Lauren Lewthwaite (she/her) is a freelance translator, writer, editor, book publicist, and also the Manager of River Street Writing. She holds a Bachelor of Arts with a Specialization in French-Spanish-English Translation from the University of Ottawa. A native of Ajax, Ontario, she has a passion for reading, editing, and translating. She loves to travel and experience different cultures; her most notable experience so far was a translation internship in Costa Rica.
Jessica Fox (she/her) has been a freelance writer for five years, specializing in health, wellness, and insurance. She's in the process of getting her B.A. in English at Queen's University. When Jessica isn't furiously writing, she's drinking coffee, working out, or playing with her two young daughters.
Margaret Huntley—one of our fabulous publicists—has a Bachelor's degree from Western University specializing in Creative Writing and a Masters of Writing, Editing and Publishing from The University of Queensland. An experienced copywriter and publicist, Margaret also pursues her own creative endevours with various publications including: Anodyne Magazine, Occasus, The Northern Appeal, and Iconoclast Collective.
Nicole Mae (they/she) is a River Street publicist as well as a poet and filmmaker from Treaty Four, Canada.
Currently, they have two poetry books and are in the works of releasing a third. They have also hosted writing workshops with Saskatchewan Writers' Guild, Regina Public Library, Indigo Books & Music, The Penny University, and Prairie Valley School Division.
Nicole’s films are on their YouTube channel and in select art galleries across North American. Collaborative pieces can be found on CBC News's and Globe Theatre's websites.
Whether through words or videos, Nicole's works reflect themes of nostalgia, longing, queer poetics, Hungarian diaspora, ill body, shame, and romantic love.
Hollay Ghadery (she/her) is a content, PR, and communications specialist with 20 years of experience working with businesses and individuals from around the globe. She’s also the founder of River Street Writing.
Hollay has her BAH in English Language and Literature from Queen’s University, as well as her Masters of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from the University of Guelph. Her short stories, poetry, non-fiction, and reviews have appeared in literary journals across Canada, including The Malahat Review, Grain, Understorey, The Antigonish Review, The Fiddlehead, and Room. Her work of non-fiction, Fuse, was released by Guernica Edition’s new Miroland Imprint in 2021 and won the 2023 Canadian Bookclub Award for Nonfiction/Memoir. Her debut collection of poetry, Rebellion Box, came out with Radiant Press in 2023. The title poem of the collection was awarded The New Quarterly’s 2022 Nick Blatchford Prize for Occasional Verse. Widow Fantasies, her collection of short fiction is set to be released with Gordon Hill Press in 2024. Hollay is also the Poet Laureate of Scugog Township.
